Poem about Diary

I found this little poem from a piece of homework for a writing class I go to.

Why have a diary?
     Is it to remember a date?
Is it to remember contacts?
     Is it to remember addresses?
Sounds good
     having a diary
Sounds good
     Doesn't it?
Best way
     to remember good times
Relive life
      in our memories
Just a snag
      about keeping a diary
If author is a boy
     his sister will read of his girlfriend
If author is a girl
     her brother will read of her boyfriend
All the evidence
     laid out bare to be read
Diary sounds good
     on the surface
But can
     lead to trouble
Which is why
     I don't keep a diary.
